A is for Anna

An exhibition of new work by

Anna Cameron and Anna Syperek.

July 16th - August 4th

Opening Reception: Saturday, July 16,2011; 2-4pm

Anna Cameron

Anna Cameron studied painting and lithography and received her BFA from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver. She and her family have happily called New Brunswick home since 2000. Anna has exhibited her work across Canada.

Anna is currently exploring both abstract and figurative work which involves both paint and mixed media collage. Some paintings combine paint with abstractions of patterned papers, playing with colour, light, dimension and perspective. Other paintings combine these patterned papers with simple color and delicate little sparrows.

Anna Syperek

“The only evidence of truth in art exists when it compels us to say ‘I see’ ” – Tagore The work in this show is about those quiet moments in my life and in my immediate environment when what I notice takes on a new significance and seems to hint at a deeper level of meaning than its surface beauty.

Anna graduated with a BFA in painting and printmaking at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1980. Anna now teaches art part time at St. Francis Xavier University where she also set up a community print making workshop. Anna’s work is in the Canada Council and Nova Scotia Art Banks and public and private collections across Canada, the United States and Europe. She has received grants from Canada Council, Nova Scotia Arts Council and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation.
