Impressions of Wildness -Etchers of North Eastern Nova Scotia

August 1st – August 14th

When people from other countries think of Canada the image that often comes up is of an amazingly beautiful country and of a picturesque wilderness unequaled elsewhere.  The show Impressions of Wildness –Etchers of North Eastern Nova Scotia, opening August 1st and running until August 14th, depicts this “Canada”.  The artists have selected as their subjects the flora and fauna of North Eastern Nova Scotia and have rendered it in exquisite etchings.

Eight etchers will be featured in this exhibit: Sara avMaat, Kate Brown Georgallas, Gerry Hills, Adam MacDonald, Vicki Maclean, William Rogers, Anna Syperek and Odile Têtu.  Anna Syperek, an artist and professor at St. Francis Xavier University, has invited the group to show their work together and to demonstrate to the public the art of etching.
