Wearable Art

September 25th – October 21st

Do you wish you could develop your own style of dressing? We are here to help! We will be taking art off the wall and having it adorn the body in a unique exhibit of "art to wear". Each individually designed piece of hand made clothing or jewellery has been created as something to treasure for decades. Each piece is a work of fine art. It is time to begin your collection of some of the finest Atlantic Canadian art and through it express the new you!

In conjunction with this exhibit there will be two artist demonstrations where the artists will demonstrate the process of creating their artistic and unique creations:

- RITA VAN TASSEL, Saturday, September 25th, 2 - 4 pm (A workshop of how to use both felted beads and leather in jewellery creation. Rita will also explain the special items that she is creating for this exhibit which are illuminated jellyfish from sheer, shimmery fabric and LED lights.)
- BEVERLEY MCINNES, Saturday, October 16th, 2 - 4 pm (A workshop of the beading work that Beverley uses in her beautiful and whimsical bags: what motivates her in the material choices that she makes, the techniques that she uses to create these one-of-a-kind truly special pieces.)
